Maximum virtual disk size dropped to 2TB on HPE SimpliVity

I have faced this problem a few times on HPE SimpliVity Infra and wanted to share the solution on my blog. Normally, due to configuration maximums of VMware 7, VMware datastores support up to 62TB. Somehow there is a glitch on HPE SimpliVity and sometimes it shows you that your maximum virtual disk size is 2TB instead of what you have. Firstly, SSH access on the ESXi host has to be enabled then hostd services have to be restarted using the following command.

/etc/init.d/hostd restart

The second step is to disconnect the host on the vCenter and reconnect to verify the datastore parameters. You will see the following pictures as before and after pictures from my infra.

Thanks for your time and for reading my article. I wish you a good and successful day.

Regards,
Hasan
