How to create a whitelist on Office 365

Hello IT guys, there are two ways to create a safe sender, which is known as a whitelist, on Office 365 without using PowerShell. Both of them are so easy to implement on the ECP of Office 365. Let’s start with the first option.

Option 1

  1. Log in to office.com as a tenant admin account. This account may be your onmicrosoft.com account.
  2. Click on the Exchange at the bottom of the website and follow the given steps below.
  3. Open the Exchange Admin Center.
  4. Click on Protection.
  5. Click on Spam Filter.
  6. Double click on Default.
  7. Click on Allow Lists.
  8. Under Allow Lists, here there are two options to make a whitelist. One of them is to allow a specific email address, and the other one is to allow a whole specific domain address. If you want to add a specific email to the whitelist click the + to add a new email address. If you want to add a whole specific domain click the + to add the allowed domain.
  9. When the pop-up appears, add the address you would like to let your organization.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Click Save again.

Option 2

The second option is to create a rule from the flow section of the ECP.

  1. Log in to office.com as a tenant admin account. This account may be your onmicrosoft.com account.
  2. Click on the Exchange at the bottom of the website and follow the given steps below.
  3. Click on the Mail Flow
  4. Click the + to add a new rule in the rules tab
  5. Give a name of your rule like Whitelist
  6. Apply this rule if… The sender’s domain is.. write down the website you would like to add, like hasanaltin.com
  7. Do the following… Modify the message properties.. set the spam confidence level (SCL).. when the specified SCL pop-up appears choose the Bypass spam filtering option and click on the ok.
  8. Click on the save.

Briefly, both options are easy to implement your exchange online account. Similarly, creating the blacklist rule is also made the same steps, and you will see it inside the Office 365 category on my blog. Have a great day.

Regards.

I don't see any difference between the one who doesn't share its knowledge or the one who doesn't share its bread.
